Veterans Organizations Supporting Veterans

Veterans Path to Hope - Provides services to Veterans who are homeless, disabled or disadvantaged.
AmVets - Helps veterans file disability claims with the VA, provides grants for VA medical centers and rehabilitation campuses and offers programs.
Disabled American Veterans Charity (DAV) - Provides support for Veterans of all generations and their families.
Honor Flight - Transports America’s veterans to Washington DC to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.
Inner Voice - Assists Veterans with housing, counseling, employment, and supportive services.
Lake County Responds for Veterans - Assists Veterans and their families in need, especially those with low and moderate income, by raising donations of money, building materials, and professional labor, and coordinating the process of repairing, building, and donating homes.
Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans Freedom Commissary - Assists with transitional housing, affordable housing and support services.
Midwest Veterans Closet - Offers free clothing, household items, small kitchen appliances, furniture, employment assistance, housing leads, and food at the drop-in center in North Chicago to active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. They rely on donations to keep serving active-duty service members and veterans.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart - Supports Veterans and fundraising for the Purple Heart foundation which funds Veteran programs and services across the country.
Military Outreach USA - USA Beds for Vets Program. Provides basic move-in essentials & beds to formerly homeless veterans.
Naperville Responds for Veterans - Assists Veterans and their families in need, especially those with low and moderate income, by raising donations of money, building materials, and professional labor, and coordinating the process of repairing, building, and donating homes.
Veterans Legal Aid Society (VLAS) - Coordinates access to legal services for Illinois Veterans through direct referrals to attorneys and legal aid organizations, supports Veterans legal aid programs and assists in the management of an OBRA Trust to benefit Veterans and their families. They also assist Veterans with VA pension applications and appeals through a pro bono service program.
