Brookdale Valparaiso is a Memory Care community located in Valparaiso, Indiana that provides compassionate and respectful care to seniors with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

We are located right off of Valparaiso Street, a major thoroughfare that allows visitors easy access to and from our community. Situated just outside of the city center, our excellent location provides seniors with a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

Because we are a Memory Care community, our entire focus is to serve the special care needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Our community, for instance, was designed to re-create environments people have enjoyed throughout their lives. The community’s interior spaces are scaled and decorated like those of a private home, so residents feel comfortable and secure in their surroundings.

Brookdale Valparaiso was also designed to ensure the safety of our residents. We have enclosed walking areas that allow residents to move about the community safely. And all of our exterior doors are alarmed to ensure that no resident leaves the community without notice.

Just because a resident has Alzheimer’s or dementia doesn’t mean that they can enjoy everything life has to offer. Our staff works to provide enriching, thought provoking activities that are geared toward Memory Care residents. Each day we want our residents to feel a sense of accomplishment, success and satisfaction.

Some of our specialized programs include daily late morning mental exercises including discussions, brain stimulating games, and reminiscing; a variety of exercise opportunities including group exercises, walking programs and dancing; individual or group activities that provide a sense of purpose, meaning, and belonging; activities designed using the resident’s own social history information as a foundation.
