Our Commitment, Over 40 Years
Barrington Orthopedic Specialists was established in 1980 by founder Dr. Keith Schroeder, Orthopedic Surgeon. His philosophy, which remains today, is to treat patients as you would want to be treated. It all begins with listening to our patients and taking the time to perform a thorough evaluation in order to make an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
The practice has grown through the years and offers an impressive roster of orthopedic surgeons, podiatric surgeons, and physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists all committed to providing exceptional care. Our physicians use cutting-edge technology to assess, diagnose, and work closely with patients to develop an innovative treatment plan for a variety of orthopedic conditions and injuries. Our commitment to our patients is to deliver the highest-quality care and comprehensive treatment to restore functional ability.
Barrington Orthopedic Specialists offers additional in-house services which includes a Rehabilitation Department at all locations offering physical therapy, occupational therapy, work conditioning, functional capacity evaluations and fitness enhancement programs. Our Schaumburg location offers an Immediate Orthopedic Care, Ambulatory Surgery Center and MRI services.
Humanitarian Mission Trips
Many of the physicians at Barrington Orthopedic Specialists participate yearly in a mission trip where they volunteer their service to provide surgical treatment to patients that couldn’t afford it.
Dr. Narendra Patel, podiatric foot and ankle surgeon, has partnered with the American Microsurgical Orthoplastic Society (AMOS) to provide yearly humanitarian efforts for the surgical correction of lower limb, ankle and foot deformities to the people of Honduras. This twice yearly mission focuses on the indigenous people of Honduras to provide surgical corrective procedures they couldn’t afford on their own. It is completely voluntary from all the doctors and assistants that come. All materials are provided free of charge.
Dr. Paul Nourbash, orthopedic hip and knee joint reconstruction surgeon joined a group of amazing surgeons and volunteers with Operation Walk Virginia, on a trip to Panama in September 2019 to help unfortunate patients crippled with arthritis. During the week they treated 59 patients that were crippled due to arthritis and unable receive the medical care that they needed. The trip was a tremendous success. Dr. Nourbash states “he will never forget how much the patients were suffering from arthritis, how hard the patients worked to recover after surgery, and how generous all the volunteers were with their time and energy”. Dr. Nourbash is planning on returning yearly.
